Future Culinary Students Get a Taste of Culinary Job-Training Program
Nine people attended the first Open House of the New Year at Allie’s Place Center for Culinary Education & Employment. Attendees met members of the Culinary team, learned about program requirements and expectations, and took a tour. The group visited the barista training room and classrooms and two classes that were in session—Culinary Essentials 1 and Pastry Arts—where they could see chef instructors and current students in action. On the menu that day: chicken souvlaki, spanakopita, Greek potato salad, hummus, homemade pita bread, and tzatziki in the main kitchen and chocolate chip cookies and Chantilly cream cupcakes in the baking kitchen.
