Student Spotlight on Recent Graduates of Allie’s Place Center for Culinary Education & Employment: Neysha and William Neysha and William recently graduated Allie’s Place Center for Culinary Education & Employment and are paving their way in the culinary world: both students were accepted into the First Course NYC Apprenticeship Program—a 14-week program that includes hands-on culinary instruction and a paid internship at a NYC restaurant. “The First Course program is a great opportunity for Allie’s Place graduates to build on the foundation they develop at the Center for Culinary Education & Employment and furthers our graduates on their path to employment—which is one of our goals for students,” said Derrick Holman, Program Outreach Specialist

Future Culinary Students Get a Taste of Culinary Job-Training Program Nine people attended the first Open House of the New Year at Allie’s Place Center for Culinary Education & Employment. Attendees met members of the Culinary team, learned about program requirements and expectations, and took a tour. The group visited the barista training room and classrooms and two classes that were in session—Culinary Essentials 1 and Pastry Arts—where they could see chef instructors and current students in action. On the menu that day: chicken souvlaki, spanakopita, Greek potato salad, hummus, homemade pita bread, and tzatziki in the main kitchen and chocolate chip cookies and Chantilly cream cupcakes

Celebrating the Season at Allie’s Place and Saratoga Family Residences with a Spring Fling HFH recently celebrated the arrival of Spring with lively events at two of the family residences: Saratoga and Allie’s Place. Families at Saratoga Family Residence gathered for an outdoor celebration to welcome the season and graduates of Allie’s Place Center for Culinary Education & Employment hosted a staff luncheon to showcase their culinary and hospitality expertise.
