The HFH team was proud to take part in the National Women’s Shelter Network (NWSN) conference, contributing to critical discussions on shelter models and education. Executive Director John Greenwood moderated the “From Shelter to Stability” panel, where leaders in the field shared innovative, trauma-informed approaches for supporting families experiencing homelessness. Managing Director of Comms & Policy Linda Bazerjian participated in a panel focused on strategies to help sheltered school-age children succeed, highlighting insights from the Afterschool & Recreation program at Saratoga Family Residence.

The conference concluded with the NWSN’s press conference, where they launched the Safe Shelter Saves Lives campaign to raise awareness about the hidden homeless—women, families, and children who are often overlooked in public policy discussions. The HFH team also joined New York partners on Capitol Hill to share information about holistic shelters and inform policymakers on the comprehensive support families need to move toward stability.

We look forward to continuing these important conversations and collaborating with fellow leaders in the field to develop effective solutions that support families on their path to stability.
